Apply Phase Zero to a Previous Project
This assignment takes place after our February 1st session and is in preparation for our February 8th session.
Part One
For this exercise we will look at a previous project you were involved in and reconsider it with a phase zero process. The project may be one that you were a team member for or one that you created on your own. It may be a project that you consider successful or one that you do not. It is best to pick a project that had a lot of creative possibility rather than a more narrow one (ie: choose a new show, a curriculum, an organizational team restructuring, rather than, say: a doorknob design). In Part 1 you will analyze the project. In Part 2 you will imagine how it might be thought of differently.
You may do this assignment by hand in your notebook or on the computer. If done by hand, please upload images or scans of the work.
Part 1:
1. Describe the project. What was the scope of it? Who was involved? What did the creators intend? What disciplines were involved? (75 words max)
2. What was the actual experience of the audience/user/visitor? What was the intended experience? How was it achieved? What tools/practices were especially effective/ineffective in achieving that experience? (100 words max)
3. What was your experience during the project? What was the experience of your collaborators (if there were any)? (150 words max)
