Travel Information

Baltimore

If you plan on staying at a hotel during your visit to Baltimore, we recommend good neighbor, Hotel Indigo, or if you're feeling fancy, the Revival Hotel. Wilson House is a wonderful, quirky BNB a ten minute walk to MICA. There are plenty of hotels in the Inner Harbor area, from which you could take a carshare or the light-rail right to MICA. Generally we don't recommend AirBnBs because several students had problems last year, but if you do go that route, look for one near MICA in Bolton Hill east of Eutaw or in the Hampden neighborhood. This one is good.

If you are coming in by train, you can take the MARC or Amtrak trains to MARC Penn Station in Baltimore, which is a three block walk from our location.

New York

Where to stay

Aloft is a solid choice that I recommended to folks when I was a co-owner of a B&B in Brooklyn and we were full. It's in downtown Brooklyn and close to a lot of transit. If you're looking for something hip and in Manhattan The Standard or ACE Hotel are great, if a bit more of a splurge. Airbnbs are also of course an option--in Brooklyn we recommend staying in Williamsburg or Greenpoint (which are close to Chemistry Creative), Fort Green, Prospect Heights, Park Slope, Brooklyn Heights (further South in BK, but lovely). All are all relatively safe, walkable, and will have all sorts of great places to eat and explore; Williamsburg, Greenpoint, and Bushwick will have more direct transit options along the L train.

About Chemistry Creative

Spaces and locations will be assigned according to project need. They vary from 7x10' to 10'x10'. There are also unconventional spaces, such as private conference rooms, hallways, and lounge areas which could be used. People who are just attending a table with information will have just a table space. Space requests will be taken in mid-fall and a new layout will assign spaces to each presenter.
