Work Study Positions for the EDCP

Program Assistant

This role collaborates with Program directors to manage the logistics of EDCP operations.
Tasks include:

  • Uploading weekly class recordings from both cohorts to the student portal, updating class assignments on the student portal, general website updates, and more. 

  • Serves as primary communicator between staff and students 

  • Plans extracurricular gatherings and coordinates summer pod checkins. 

  • Pursuing beer/wine sponsorship for the New Frame.

  • Provides documentation of in-person weekends of EDCP 

    Photography, documentation, broad community support experience a plus. Must be great at working with students and generally flexible enough to get done what needs to get done.

  • 5hrs per week average commitment

  • This is largely a remote role. Applicants can be located anywhere.

    Events Assistant

    This role helps with planning, documentation, promotion, and logistics for events throughout the year, such as New Frame, Weekend Intensives, and beyond.
    Tasks include:

  • Independently plans, promotes, and produces a weekend intensive outside New York with the program directors.

  • Serves as primary interface between directors and students for New Frame logistics

  • Works with Program Assistant to coordinate and execute documentation for these events. Must have project management or event management experience, as well as documentation experience and be able to think flexibly.

  • 5hrs per week average commitment

  • a good fit for international applicants or applicants outside of New York City

Special Projects Assistant

This role assists with Odyssey Works creative and projects. 

Must be excellent at managing schedules on their own and thinking broadly about complex creative projects. Experience creating projects for kids is a plus, though not required.

Tasks include:

  • Bringing creative and administrative skills to experiences being designed for kids, public presentations given by the director, and more.

  • Should have administrative experience, as well as broad creative practice in fields that may include graphics, live immersive concepting, design, writing, facilitation. 

  • Having a well-developed and rigorous creative practice with plenty of management experience, wherein this role can be tailored to your skillset 

  • 5hrs per week average commitment

  • Preferred in-person work days at the Odyssey Works office in Brooklyn, so a good fit for a New York-based applicant. Optional attendance at productions in New York or other US locations.

Video Production and Documentation

This role collaborates with Creative Operations on one year-long project, and several small short form projects. Must have video editing and production experience; documentary and social media portfolios a plus.
Tasks include:

  • Spending the year gathering content and crafting a 3 minute video that documents their own journey as a student of EDCP, with interviews, b-roll, and insights from other students wherever possible. This video will serve as our Info Session Explainer video for the following 2-3 years. 

  • In weeks or months where this content is still being gathered, the Video Production and Documentation Work Study will assist Creative Operations with editing and/or scripting 2- 4 short form (15, 30, or 60 seconds) social media videos a month. 

  • 5hrs per week average commitment.
